29 Mar 2023 By

Muscat – Oman has been ranked first in the world in express mail service for the year 2022 among the member states of the Universal Postal Union comprising 190 countries.

Oman Post has enhanced its competitiveness and upgraded its services over the past few years, providing various packages of express mail delivery solutions to destinations in three to ten days according to the best international standards.

‘The achievement reflects the qualitative shift witnessed by postal services in Oman, from traditional services to competitive commercial services that keep pace with global requirements and developments,’ stated ONA.

The ranking is based on 16 key performance indicators that take into account the speed and efficiency of postal services, such as delivery, transportation and export, data accuracy, compliance with regulations, and time taken for customs clearance.

Ahmed bin Ali al Balushi, Group Chief Asset Management, Asyad Group, said that Oman Post securing the top spot confirms Asyad’s development methodology and its influential role locally and globally. “Oman Post will continue to achieve its vision to make the sultanate a global logistics centre and a destination for all investors.”

According to Sheikh Ibrahim bin Sultan al Hosani, Acting CEO of Oman Post and Asyad Express, Oman Post has achieved significant growth in its commercial operations and logistical solutions in recent years, which has led to an increase in its operational efficiency. “The last-mile delivery service was started last year to provide the service to the recipient’s door.”
