Muscat – Rains continued to lash several parts of Oman on Tuesday as a result of the low pressure currently affecting many parts of the sultanate.

The weather is expected to be cloudy over most governorates with the trough of low pressure continuing on Wednesday, according to the latest weather update from the National Multi Hazard Early Warning System.

The Ministry of Education issued a decision to suspend classes in all public and private schools in the governorates of Musandam, North Batinah, Buraimi, and Dhahirah on Tuesday due to anticipated heavy rains. Classes will resume Wednesday.

The ministry also decided to suspend studies in evening schools in the wilayats of Amerat and Quraiyat on Tuesday, due to the inclement weather.

The Ministry of Social Development also temporarily suspended work in rehabilitation centres for persons with disabilities in the governorates of Musandam, North Batinah, Buraimi and Dhahirah on Tuesday.
