Muscat – As many as 144 types of expired veterinary medicines were found in North Sharqiyah governorate, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources (MAFWR) announced.
The ministry carried out an inspection at some farms and veterinary facilities in North Sharqiyah. During the inspection, it found many expired medicines in the wilayat of Bidiyah.
Experts seized 144 varieties of expired drugs, including ten liquid insecticide packets, and 28 dry insecticide sachets from the storage facilities of agricultural and commercial shops.
Experts confiscated the expired drugs and case was transferred to related authorities in the sultanate.
The ministry called on all farmers and livestock workers to cooperate with the authorities and deter violators, stressing that they will continue to follow up and monitor farms and veterinary facilities, and stand firm against any law breaches.
