Muscat – Yalla Shabab defeated Zawawi Powertech by four wickets while Oman Stallions beat Ibn Abdul Samad (IAS CT) by 44 runs in Oman Cricket’s Premier Division league powered by Muscat Pharmacy.
Opting to bat first against Yalla Shabab, Zawawi Powertech were all out for 199 in 49.1 overs with key contributions from Gowtham Sagar (40 of 62; 3×4,2×6), Muhammed Raheem (32 of 37; 3×4,2×6) and Prabhakaran Kannan (29 of 27; 3×4,1×6).
Muhammed Zahid (3/43), Nester Dhamba (2/36) and Wasim Ali (2/31) were the main wicket-takers for the Yalla Shabab.
In reply, Hasnain Ul Wahab (73 of 80; 8×4,2×6) and Hannan Rizwan (61 of 74; 7×4) played crucial roles as Yalla Shabab chased down the target in 42.4 overs.
Nishad KS took 2 for 32. It was Yalla Shabab’s fifth victory in six games.
In the other match, Stallions, opting to bat first, were all out for 149 in 39.2 overs despite fine contributions from Jitenkumar Ramanandi (69 of 83; 7×4) and Yasir Ali (38 of 78; 1×4,1×6). Mehdi Hasan (4/40), Rana Naeem (3/11) and Sagheer Ahmed (2/16) shone with the ball for IAS CT.
However, Stallions bowlers responded in fine fashion to bundle out IAS CT for 105 in 31.4 overs.
Mohammed Waqas (52 of 74; 3×4,2×6) waged a lone battle for IAS CT. Bilal Khan (4/30), Mohit Patel (4/40) and Faisal Shah (2/15) were the wicket-takers for Stallions, who are third in the standings with five wins in seven games.
