Muscat – Muscat Municipality has called on citizens and residents reminding them of their civic duty to preserve and protect public places.

In a statement, it said, ‘Muscat Municipality urges all citizens and residents to abide by the law and preserve public places such as parks and beaches, and to ensure safety in residential neighbourhoods.’

The municipality also called on everyone – officials of institutions and civil society and also individuals – to cooperate in the safe disposal of waste in order to preserve the environment and the health and safety of community members

Warning against littering, the municipality confirmed that it is forbidden by law and punishable with a fine of up to RO100.

‘Cleanliness of Muscat and preservation of tourist facilities and sites are the responsibility of everyone,’ the civic body stated.
