MuscatThe Consumer Protection Department in Mahout in Al Wusta governorate seized a commercial establishment that displayed and sold expired goods.

The seizure was part of the Consumer Protection Authority’s inspection drives that aim to combat the spread of unauthorised traded goods, and hold violators accountable in accordance with the Consumer Protection Law, its executive regulations, its amendments, and the decisions issued.

‘CPA personnel confiscated the expired goods and preparations are being made for their destruction in coordination with the authorities concerned in the governorate. Legal measures were also taken against the facility,’ CPA stated.

The authority affirms that it will spare no efforts in following up and monitoring the markets and controlling everything that may harm the health and safety of consumers or detract from their rights, and take legal measures against violators.
