Muscat – His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik gave an audience to Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director-General of World Trade Organization (WTO) at Al Barakah Palace on Tuesday.

At the outset of the meeting, His Majesty the Sultan welcomed the guest. His Majesty appreciated WTO’s efforts to streamline global trade and ensure its stability, and also lauded its role in overcoming challenges facing the global economy.

Dr Ngozi expressed WTO’s pride in its relations with the sultanate. She commended the open trade and investment policies espoused by Oman under the wise leadership of His Majesty.
