Muscat – The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has arrested four expats for smuggling large quantities of drugs into Oman.

A statement issued online by ROP said, ‘The General Administration of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Control arrested three Asians for smuggling narcotic drugs in association with international gangs.’

More than 20kg of crystal meth and over 17kg of morphine were seized from the accused.

In another incident, North Batinah Governorate Police Command arrested a person accused of trafficking narcotics, and seized quantities of hashish, crystal, and various psychotropic tablets in his possession.

Legal procedures have been initiated against them, it added.
