Muscat – The corporate social responsibility arm of Al Yousef Group (AYG) and Truck Oman Group (TOGS) has donated 60 air conditioning units to a number of public schools in Muttrah in line with AYG & TOGS’ commitment to improve facilities in the wilayat of Muttrah.

AYG and its subsidiaries – including TOGS – aspire to make a significant contribution to the society, focusing on a good education environment and community wellbeing. It has extended support to Muttrah, given the company’s keenness to contribute to the development of society, including providing access to resources, improving educational facilities and delivering community services.

Commenting on the donation, Sayyid Ahmed bin Hilal bin Saud al Busaidi, Wali of Muttrah, said, “Our sincere thanks to Al Yousef Group for its generous contribution of air conditioning units which are essential for schools. These will provide a comfortable environment for students. We are happy for the initiative and proud of the great support from the company to the people of Muttrah.”

On his part, Dr Ali al Jahwari, Director General of Directorate General of Muscat, Ministry of Education, said, “This is a great initiative of the well wishers of students in Muttrah and Muscat Air Conditioning & Electronics. The initiative shows the true cooperation between the people of Muttrah, the Ministry of Education and Al Yousef Group in the interest of students. It is indeed a great honour for us to receive the donation which will improve the learning conditions of our students.”

He added, “This gesture will support the development of a good learning environment serving the students of Muttrah, and reflects the company’s CSR strategy, which is committed to fulfilling what others need.”

For Faisal al Yousef, Chief Executive Officer of AYG, the donation “constitutes a debt being paid to Muttrah from where the group started its journey”.

He said, “The education sector is very dear to the group’s shareholders, chairman and board. AYG has pioneered contributions in this segment across Oman from the early days.”

Muscat Air Conditioning & Electronics (MACE), which belongs to AYG, has been associated with Sharp Corporation of Japan since 2012 and is its sole distributor of home appliances, consumer electronics, wall mounted air conditioners, photocopiers, digital multifunction printers, interactive touchscreen LCD monitors, and print software solutions. “During the decade-long association with Sharp in Oman, we have had many satisfied customers using Sharp products and are striving to have many more,” the group’s CEO said.
