Muscat – Oman has established an airbridge to supply relief material as well as search and rescue personnel to Turkey and Syria, which have been ravaged by an earthquake killing thousands and affecting millions.
Assigned by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Royal AirForce of Oman and the Civil Defense and Ambulance Authority on Wednesday sent the first lot of supplies to Syria and Turkey.
A statement issued by the CDDA said, ‘In implementation of the Royal Directives, the Sultanate of Oman operates an airbridge to transport relief and medical materials to the Syrian and Turkish regions affected by the earthquake. In addition, we are sending a force from the National Search and Rescue Team from CDDA to southern Turkey to provide aid and assistance.’
