Muscat – His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik made telephone calls to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey and President Bashar al Assad of Syria on Tuesday.
His Majesty the Sultan expressed his condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the two leaders and the people of Turkey and Syria in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake. He wished the injured speedy recovery.
During the telephonic conversations, His Majesty the Sultan reaffirmed the sultanate’s solidarity with the two countries. He voiced Oman’s support for all in view of the grave situation, praying to Allah the Almighty to alleviate its impact, help the people of Turkey and Syria overcome this ordeal and spare them any harm.
On their turn, President Assad and President Erdogan expressed their thanks and appreciation to His Majesty the Sultan for his kind initiative and noble feelings. They valued Oman’s stand, praying to Allah the Almighty to spare His Majesty the Sultan and Omani people any calamity.
On Monday, Sayyid Badr al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, expressed his condolences and sympathies for the victims of the earthquake during his communication with his Turkish and Syrian counterparts, Mevlut Cavusoglu and Faisal al Miqdad. Sayyid Badr affirmed the sultanate’s solidarity with the two countries and Oman’s willingness to provide all possible assistance.
