Muscat – The Department of Blood Bank Services (DBBS) has announced that there is an urgent need of blood due to low stocks of most blood types.

In a statement, DBBS said, ‘The Central Blood Bank in Bausher needs more than 600 blood donors this week to meet the needs of health institutions for blood units because of low stocks of most blood types.’

The blood bank also needs 70 platelet donors and 35 plasma donors per week.

‘We invite everyone to take the initiative to donate blood.’

People can donate blood from 8am to 8pm, from Saturday to Thursday, and from 8pm to 2pm to on Friday. Appointments can be made through WhatsApp – 94555648, or by dialing 24591255 or 2494255.
