Muscat – Despite the accident as a result of a technical failure in one of the children’s rides at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC) on Tuesday, Muscat Municipality confirmed that Muscat Nights activities continue as per schedule.
Speaking to Muscat Daily, a municipality official said, “The programmes and events at OCEC are continuing according to a schedule prepared in advance. The centre is holding a unique carnival, including a theatrical performance of ‘Aladdin’s Wonderland’ and an artistic show called ‘Winter in the Forest’, which is a circus set in the Arctic winter. Other attractions are ‘Fantasy Lion’, ‘Mr Bob’ and ‘3D Mapping’ shows.”
He added that actors from Manchester and London, who have experience of performing theatre at Disney World as well as entertainment programmes in the GCC countries, such as Riyadh Season, have been contracted for the shows at Muscat Nights.
Elaborating on the games featured in Muscat Nights, he said, “There are 23 electric and mechanical games and rides for children and adults. Additionally, there are games that use virtual reality technology.”
The municipality has also allocated a corner in ‘Carnival Land’ for two- to four-year-old children where cartoon characters perform acts from the series Cocomelon. “Children can enjoy their beloved cartoon characters, which have positive messages for the pre-school age group.”
