Muscat – Sultan Qaboos University Hospital (SQUH) has issued an internal directive stipulating that all employees and visitors of the hospital must wear face masks from Jan 2.
In a circular, the hospital stated that the decision has been taken because the hospital administration noticed an increase in the number of patients with COVID-19 positive results in recent days.
‘To avert the spread of the virus among staff and patients in the hospital, it has been decided that all employees and visitors must enter the hospital from the main entrance and they are not allowed to use the emergency department entrances,’ the hospital statement said.
It added that all staff and visitors to the hospital are to wear mask with effect from Monday, January 2, 2023. ‘The hospital administration will continue to monitor the situation to determine the next course of action,’ the statement said.
The hospital stated that Purple Ward is to be used for admissions of COVID-19 positive patients.
