Muscat – Omantel is set to break a new ground in e-commerce by working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the sultanate.

Omantel has announced plans to develop ‘Omantel Marketplace’, a one-stop online shop for businesses and individuals to securely discover, purchase and sell goods, services, and innovative solutions.

Omantel will work with AWS to develop the marketplace, which will run on AWS and leverage its machine learning and data analytics capabilities to provide a personalised customer experience.

The agreement comes as part of Omantel’s efforts to leverage its capabilities and global partnerships to enhance the contribution of digital economy in the Omani GDP and enhance the reach of Omani SMEs boosting their competitiveness in the global markets in line with Oman 2040 vision.
