Housing ministry inks pacts worth RO2mn for 25 projects


Muscat – The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning (MHUP) on Thursday signed 25 usufruct contracts to the tune of RO2,049,000 to award plots of land for investment projects in six governorates.

The contracts were signed by H E Hamad Ali al Nazwani, Undersecretary in the Ministry of Housing, and the representatives of those firms that obtained lands under the usufruct system.

The contracts cover three industrial projects in South Sharqiyah, 15 residential and commercial projects in Dakhiliyah, three industrial and commercial projects in Muscat, two commercial and industrial projects in Dhofar, a commercial project in Al Wusta and a commercial-cum-residential project in Dhahirah.

Some of the projects to be developed under the agreements include setting up of a plastic bag production unit, a commercial complex, a school, warehouses, an ice factory, office complexes, and workers’ accommodations.
