Two citizens jailed for 6 months for hunting gazelle

Muscat – The Environment Authority (EA) has announced that a criminal court in Muscat issued a ruling convicting two citizens for killing a gazelle and punished them with a six-month prison term and a fine of RO1,000 each.

Hunting gazelles in Oman is a serious crime and anyone caught doing so will be imprisoned for a period of six months while being subject to a fine of RO1,000, according to the Office for Conservation of Environment at the Royal Court.

The court in Muscat issued the ruling convicting the two defendants for killing the gazelle and also imposed the fine.
