Muscat – Kriv Rajesh Patel scored a whirlwind 231 off just 78 balls to become an instant star at Oman Cricket’s Junior U13 League powered by Mazoon Dairy last week.

MCCC Yellow U13 captain Kriv’s stunning effort helped his side defeat Bosher Sports Centre’s U13 B team by 358 runs.

Opting to bat first, Kriv and his opening partner Siddheswaran went all guns blazing right from the start. Siddheshwaran retired after making 60 from just 31 balls but by then Kriv had gone berserk and the partnership had reached 209. And that was just the beginning as Kriv toyed with the opposition bowling, hitting 42 fours to help MCCC Yellow U13 score an incredible 394 for 2 in 20 overs.

“I certainly enjoy batting with aggression. It was tough to bat for long as it was hot and humid but these are conditions we train for and I hope I contribute to the team with many more runs,” said Kriv.

In reply, BSC U13B were all out for 36 runs thanks mainly to a three-wicket haul from Pranav N, with Kriv taking two.

In another U13 game, MCCC Blue U13 beat MCCC Purple U13 by 145 runs. Opting to bat first, MCCC Blue U13 scored 262 for 4 in 20 overs with opener Abdul Muqsith scoring 106 off just 49 balls with the help of 19 fours.

In reply, MCCC Blue bundled out MCCC Purple for just 117 runs.
