Muscat – H H Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, has directed all to support Seeb Club which represents Oman in the 2022 AFC Cup final.
Seeb Club has created Omani football history by booking a place in the final of the 2022 AFC Cup.
A statement issued by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth said that H H Sayyid Theyazin has directed relevant authorities to provide the necessary financial support to the club and, in cooperation with Oman Air, operate a plane for Seeb Club fans to attend the final match in Malaysia.
The ministry said that this is to encourage Omani sporting achievements and to boost the sportsmen’s efforts to raise the Omani flag in international championships, and in appreciation of the victories Seeb Club achieved in the 2022 AFC Cup by reaching the final for the first time.
The final match of the 19th edition of AFC Cup, Asia’s secondary club football tournament organised by the Asian Football Confederation, will be contested between Kuala Lumpur City FC from Malaysia and Seeb Club in Kuala Lumpur at 3pm (Oman time) on October 22.
Seeb Club reached the final after a series of wins in the group stage to the playoffs. It reached the final, representing the West Asian region, after beating Bahrain’s Riffa 4-0.
