The Omani Women’s Day celebration is recognition of Omani women’s role in the development march

Muscat – In recognition of women’s key role in the Renewed Renaissance of Oman led by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, Oman will today mark Omani Women’s Day. It is a tribute to the contributions of the Omani women in various sectors, including the economy, health, education, administration and sports.

The day is also recognition of her role in the development march. Despite the challenges she faces and her family commitments, the Omani woman has managed to excel regardless of her field of work.

On Sunday, the Council of Ministers congratulated Omani women. It stressed that Oman’s celebration of this occasion is an expression of the interest and care that Omani women have enjoyed since the dawn of the Blessed Renaissance, which enabled them to contribute side by side with men to the country’s comprehensive development process.

The cabinet also stressed that the continuous support provided by the state to women over the past decades had a great impact in opening opportunities and harnessing all their potential.

Omani women have proven their worth in accomplishing the tasks entrusted to them, which fetched them awards for excellence in many areas locally, regionally and internationally. The nation wishes the Omani woman continued success in the path of further development and progress of this dear country.

The Council of Ministers expressed its appreciation to all mothers for their important role in taking care of the family so that its members can actively participate in national work.

The theme of the celebrations this year is ‘Women are partners in development’ recognising their increasing role in the growth of the sultanate in all spheres.

This role of women has been made possible by Royal keenness to ensure their rights are guaranteed by law. It is via this enabling atmosphere that women have continued to be partners in creation of an inspiring environment for a bright and sustainable future.

Her Highness the Honourable Lady Sayyida Ahad bint Abdullah Hamed al Busaidi, Spouse of His Majesty the Sultan, reaffirmed and valued the great efforts of Omani women in establishing and supporting their families and their social, national and humanitarian contributions in various fields.

She affirmed that women enjoy their rights guaranteed by law, allowing them to be partners in creating a brighter future.

Oman has made available to the Omani woman all opportunities in order that she plays her role in comprehensive and sustainable development in various fields and thus makes her presence felt in the local, regional and international arenas in scientific, academic, economic and other fields.
