Real estate deals in Oman reach RO192mn in Aug

Muscat – The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning has stated that the value of real estate transactions in the sultanate in August amounted to RO192mn, including RO107mn from mortgages and RO82mn from sales.

Fees collected for completed legal transactions amounted to over RO5mn, of which RO579,000 was collected for mortgages, RO47,000 for swap contracts and RO2mn for sale contracts.

The total number of legal transactions was 12,830, including 6,463 sale contracts, 112 swap contracts, 2,056 mortgage contracts, 1,859 grant contracts, 537 inheritance contracts, 998 mortgage release contracts and 805 dividing contracts.

The number of title deeds issued in August reached 22,776 across the governorates, of which 4,420 were in Muscat, 1,614 in Dhofar, 199 in Musandam, 601 in Buraimi, 2,738 in Dakhliyah, 3,904 in North Batinah, 3,573 in South Batinah, 1,913 in South Sharqiyah, 1,942 in North Sharqiyah, 1,612 in Dhahirah and 259 in Al Wusta.

As many as 110 titles were issued to citizens of GCC countries, of which the highest number are in Muscat, followed by North Batinah and South Batinah.

As for plots of land registered for the first time, the total number amounted to 4,857 and the number of applications for proof and registration of ownership was 1,163.
