Muscat – To spread awareness on child protection, the Ministry of Social Development (MoSD), in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, launched a campaign called ‘We are all with you’ in Dhahirah on Thursday.
According to an official of MoSD, the campaign targets 30 schools in various wilayats in the governorate. “It aims to raise awareness on a number of social, health, religious and other issues faced by school students in cooperation with the competent authorities, besides helping activate the Child Law and implementing several programmes for this.”
The campaign involves several government institutions, such as the Public Prosecution Department, the Directorate General of Health Services, and the Department of Endowments and Religious Affairs in Dhahirah.
Suleiman bin Humaid al Jahdami, Assistant Director of Directorate of Social Development in Dhahirah, said, “The campaign seeks to spread awareness on the importance of protecting children from everything that may negatively affect them. The sultanate’s child protection laws aim to raise generations of well-behaved children with healthy development in light of modern societal and global changes.”
Dr Salim bin Hakam al Farsi, Assistant Director of the Directorate of Education in Dhahirah, stated that every child has the right to education and stressed that the educational process is not limited to providing information to students, but also understanding their needs and working to solve their problems.
