Muscat – A programme will be held by Model Lions Club of Travancore Oman at Sheraton Oman Hotel on September 30 to empower entrepreneurs in the sultanate.

Part of the popular Lions Club International, the Oman chapter was launched three years ago and currently has 35 members.

Speaking about the event, MJF Jayshankar, president of Model Lions Club of Travancore Oman, said, “We are committed to serve society. During COVID-19, we helped distribute rations and repatriate families back to India. We have also held several social events, like blood donation camps, beach cleaning and diabetes check-up camps. We are now planning an event to address entrepreneurs who are facing challenges professionally.”

More than 30 entrepreneurs have registered for the event, he informed.

Sashi Kumar, secretary of the club, added, “Our main aim is to serve without any benefits in return. We do no generate any funds; our contribution is from our members only. This entrepreneurship programme will benefit new businesses, helping them thrive irrespective of the challenges they face. We will train them to think and implement ideas in a positive manner.”
