APSR announces reduction in water disconnection fee

Muscat – The Authority for Public Services Regulation (APSR) has announced a reduction in the water disconnection service fee.

Salem bin Nasser bin Saeed al Aufi, chairman of the Board of Directors of APSR, issued a decision (No 2022/25), amending some provisions of the regulations for potable water services.

The decision states that an amount of RO7.5 will be charged for disconnection and an additional RO7.5 for restoration of service.

Earlier, the fee for disconnection was RO30 and RO30 for re-connection.

The decision is based on a law ratified via Royal Decree 78/2004 and Royal Decree 131/2020 regarding the water and sanitation sector, and regulation of potable water issued by Resolution No 6/2019, with approval of the Council of Ministers, including the Ministry of Finance.

The revised fee will be effective from Monday, September 5.
