Muscat – The Civil Defence and Ambulance Department (CDAA) in North Batinah Governorate rescued a citizen who was injured in a mountain in Sohar.
In a statement, CDAA said, ‘The teams were able to rescue him and provide him with emergency medical care. He was in a critical condition.’
On August 28, rescue teams from CDAA also saved a woman who was injured in a mountain climbing accident in Wadi Mibam, in south Sharqiyah. Her health condition was said to be stable.
Also, on August 26, one citizen died and another was rescued in a critical condition from Jabal Samhan in Dhofar. The two had gone on a hiking trip in Jabal Samhan, in the wilayat of Sadah, and had fallen from the mountaintop.
The CDAA has called on all hikers and mountaineers to register their details on the NIDAA app prior to venturing out on any adventure trip.
‘Before you start your adventure, register the location and the participants on the NIDAA app. Adventure seekers should take advantage of the app as it is meant to ensure that rescue teams arrive faster in the event of an emergency,’ it stated. The app can be downloaded from https://t.co/UTfDUsJHUk
CDAA has also called on citizens and residents to follow all safety procedures and avoid taking risks when hiking.
