15 Aug 2022

Muscat – The Ministry of Education signed three memoranda of understanding (MoU) on Monday with private sector institutions supporting the Oman Science Festival 2022.

H E Dr Abdullah bin Khamis Ambusaidi, Undersecretary for Education in the Ministry of Education, signed the MoUs with Occidental Oman, the ITHCAA Group and the Asyad Group.

H E Ambusaidi stated that the support provided by the three companies for the implementation of the third edition of Oman Science Festival will give the event, which will be held in October, the desired effect and contribute to motivating schools, colleges and universities to focus on science, innovation and creativity. “The festival will help the future generations carry science and technology forward and build society.”

He added that the Ministry of Education believes that the success of any national event is based on the cohesion of efforts of various institutions, “which is what the ministry is working on by organising this event”.

The festival, H E Ambusaidi informed, will attract the interest of all segments of society, targeting school and college students in particular, “enabling them to learn about the latest developments in science, technology and innovation, and display their skills and abilities in dealing with technology for society and its various institutions”.

The MoUs, he added, aim to spread scientific temperament among society, and encourage presentation of contemporary scientific ideas in an interactive and simple way.
