Muscat – The Royal Army of Oman of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) continues to provide technical as well as humanitarian support to those affected in several wilayats in South Batinah governorate impacted by the recent rains.
Work is continuing within the framework of joint national efforts to mitigate the effects of the climatic condition that the country is currently experiencing.
The Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO) was deployed for medical evacuation of several individuals who could not be transported by land due to inclement weather from the areas of Hat and Balad Sayt, and from Al Tekha Medical Centre, to Rustaq Hospital for urgent treatment. RAFO also transported medical staff and consumer supplies to Wadi Bani Awf in the wilayat of Rustaq.
The Ministry of Defence’s Engineering Services Department provided technical and engineering support to reopen the main and secondary roads in the wilayat of Nakhl and Wadi al Ma’awil. Last week, the Engineering Services Department was deployed for relief work in Musandam.
The Royal Navy of Oman pressed its fleet into service to transport equipment, relief material and necessary supplies to Lima in Musandam.
