Muscat – Oman Cricket Secretary Madhursinh Jesrani, one of the stalwarts of the game in the country, was awarded Outstanding Service towards Growth of Cricket by the ICC.
The apex body was honouring individuals who have contributed voluntarily in the development of cricket in their country for more than 20 years.
Jesrani has played a key role in the development of cricket infrastructure in the country, implementing and improvising the structure of domestic cricket and also in the emergence of its national team to the global stage.
Jesrani said he was honoured.
“I am thankful to ICC for recognising my hard yards to develop cricket in Oman over the years. I would like to thank all the Board of Directors, Office Bearers and everyone I have worked with, with a vision to get Cricket in Oman the spotlight at the global level. I look forward to contributing to the best of my capacity to flourish and develop cricket in Oman from within grassroots and keep up the level of modern-day cricket to be recognised as one of the top cricketing nations across the globe.”
Oman Cricket Chairman HE Pankaj Khimji added: “I am delighted to hear the award for outstanding contribution to the growth of cricket in Oman awarded to Madhubhai by the ICC. He has put tireless efforts over the last three decades to take Oman Cricket onto the global level. His contribution as a working member, as well as a member of the Board of Directors over the years, is unparalleled. On behalf of the Board of Directors, Office Bearers and the entire cricketing fraternity in Oman, I thank Madhubhai for his selfless service to Oman Cricket.”
Jesrani has been serving Oman Cricket for the past three decades with utmost selflessness contributing at every capacity being a member of the working committee, Board of Directors as well as the manager for the men’s national team.
