Oman imported vehicles worth RO1.5bn in 2021

Muscat – Vehicles and spare parts worth RO1.5bn were imported in 2021, according to Oman Customs.

A statement issued by Oman Customs said, ‘Vehicles and spare parts ranked highest among imported goods, valued at RO1.5bn, alongside fuel and mineral oils (worth RO1.5bn), followed by mechanical devices and tools (RO1.3bn), machinery, electrical appliances and parts (RO902.1mn), and mineral ores (RO725.3mn).

The total number of registered vehicles in Oman reached 1.51mn at the end of March 2022, according to the latest data issued by the National Centre for Information and Statistics.

There were 1,239,755 private vehicles, comprising 79.4 per cent of the total number of registered vehicles.
