Over 2,000 candidates register for OIA’s national talent hunt

20 Jun 2022 By

Muscat – To promote public participation and corporate governance, Oman Investment Authority’s (OIA) Thiqat platform is drawing a list of qualified and experienced candidates to be referred to when selecting members of board of directors of OIA companies.

In a statement, OIA said it has so far selected 2,061 eligible candidates – 1,760 men and 301 women; 1,994 Omanis and 67 expatriates.

With an eye on better corporate governance and comprehensive restructuring of state-owned companies to raise efficiency and performance, OIA launched a national talent hunt through the Thiqat platform in December 2021.

OIA is urging interested candidates to register on the platform. ‘Once you register, you become part of a database that is consulted whenever candidates are being selected for board of directors of OIA companies.’

The authority launched Thiqat to enable talent with high competencies, experience and capabilities to apply for board memberships in entities affiliated to OIA.

The platform is designed to support OIA’s commitment to corporate governance values and active community engagement.

Thiqat will provide an integrated database, promote public engagement and attract qualified individuals to participate in decision-making in these companies.
