Muscat – Total revenues of Omani hotels in three-to-five star category rose 117.5 per cent, amounting to RO60.239mn till April 2022, according to the monthly statistics of the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
The number of hotel guests increased by 34.7 per cent to 511,429 guests, and the occupancy rate increased to 14.5 per cent till April 2022 when compared to the same period in 2021.
Among the nationalities, European guests recorded the largest growth – of 802.1 per cent – to reach 154,712 as against 17,151 in four months of 2021. The number of Omani guests decreased by 15.1 per cent to reach 217,032 as compared to 255,708 last year.
Visitors from the Gulf also grew substantially – by 501 per cent – to reach 31,425 in April 2022 as compared to 5,229 in the same period last year. The number of American visitors increased by 181.9 per cent to 18,791, while visitors from the African continent grew 63.6 percent to 2,430.
The number of Asian guests dropped by 14.4 per cent to 55,052, compared to 64,310 in 2021.
