Muscat – Expatriates can now purchase property in integrated tourism complexes (ITCs) in Musandam governorate following a decision issued by H E Dr Khalfan bin Saeed al Shuaily, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning.
The new decision enables foreign investors to own property in ITCs in Musandam for 99 years.
According to the decision, Omanis and non-Omanis can own property in built-up units or plots of land prepared for construction in ITCs.
The decision – No 109/2022 – was issued on May 18, 2022, and took effect a day after its publication in the Official Gazette.
In 2018, the government had prohibited non-Omanis from owning property in the governorates of Musandam, Buraimi, Dhahirah and Wusta, and other strategic areas.
