Muscat: The final leg of Oman’s qualification run for the berth in the Qualifiers of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 in India will begin on June 8, with a tri-series against the hosts USA and Nepal.
The double-round robin series will be a part of the ICC Men’s CWC League 2 2019 – 22.
Duleep Mendis, Head Coach and Chief Development Officer of Oman Cricket, said: “As a team, we are very positive to get started with these next set of games in the CWC League 2. Our last 2 tri-series in the UAE were fairly successful and we will look to deliver at a similar level this time around too.
“The boys have had a good recovery and regaining period over the last three-four weeks and also have trained hard to for this tour. We will be heading to the USA a week prior to play a couple of practice games and get accustomed to the conditions,” said Mendis.
“USA and Nepal are both formidable sides and we are looking forward to some competitive and high-quality cricket over the next two weeks,” he added.
Oman currently hold a 16-point advantage over second-placed Scotland in the table, but they have played almost twice the number of matches than the other six teams, which makes the four matches very crucial as they look to book a slot at the Qualifiers of the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2023.
All matches will be streamed live on icc.tv worldwide and Willow TV in the US.
