Muscat – As many as 43 expats were arrested and 15 fishing vessels sized for violating Marine Fishing Law in Dhofar governorate.

In a statement, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources said, ‘The fisheries control team at Directorate General of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources in Dhofar Governorate seized 15 artisanal fishing vessels in the sea adjacent to the Niyabat Hasik in the Wilayat of Sadah, and 43 expats were arrested. They did not have licence to practice the fishing profession.’

Legal measures have been taken against them, it added.
