Muscat – Oman’s experienced cricketer Sufyan Mehmood is all set to showcase his potential at the forthcoming Unity Cup T20 tournament in Maryland, USA, from May 24-31.
The allrounder, who represented Oman in the past, has been performing consistently in the shorter formats of the game.
Organised by 22 Yards Cricket Club in the USA, this private tournament is into its second edition. A total prize money of US$130,000 is on offer for the 16 participating teams.
Sufyan will be rubbing shoulders with international cricketers like Unmukt Chand, Mohammad Asif, Corey Anderson and Liam Plunkett to name a few.
Sufyan has been flying Oman’s flag high in various T20 and T10 tournaments in the past, having featured in teams during tournaments in Nepal, Qatar, Singapore and USA.
He represents Renaissance CT in the domestic league and was among the top-three wicket-takers in the inaugural Oman D10 league held in March, 2022. Ahead of his travel, Sufyan thanked Renaissance CT management and his employers for giving him an opportunity to compete with some of the best players in the world.
