Muscat – Oman Oil Marketing Company (OOMCO) has launched its annual At’a charity campaign to celebrate the holy month of Ramadan by giving back to the community.

In its fifth year running, the campaign seeks to serve those in need with a range of different charitable and sustainable initiatives. Among its activities this year, the fuel marketing company has pledged support to Ihsaan Association by donating seven fuel cards for the association’s ambulances, which offer a special service transporting elderly patients and those with chronic diseases from their homes to hospitals.

Furthermore, OOMCO is giving away 1,000 iftar boxes from its Ahlain stores in an initiative called ‘Iftar on the Road’. It is also supporting 50 low-income families with fuel cards, donating care packages to the Al Rahma Association for Motherhood and Childhood, and giving special gifts to children suffering from cancer.

“Since inception, Oman Oil Marketing Company has always committed itself to promoting socio-economic development in the community. Having been a core part of our CSR programme since 2018, At’a aims to promote the spirit of giving and encourage others to do the same. We’re pleased to be partnering with some of Oman’s most esteemed charities and making sure our support is directed towards the families and community members that need it most,” said Khamis Nasser al Shuaibi, general manager of Shared Services.

OOMCO’s CSR strategy includes various campaigns and projects that run all through the year and are focused on promoting in-country value. Scholarships, SME support, raising vehicle safety awareness, and delivering education on renewable energy are just some of these. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the company has also been active in its support with donations, as well as utilising its service station screens to air information and instructive videos from the Ministry of Health.
