Muscat – With an aim to create new visitor experiences to support the growth of domestic and international tourism, Oman Tourism Development Company – Omran – the government’s executive arm for the development of the tourism sector, has initiated a plan to develop Harat al Bilad in the wilayat Manah in Dakhliyah governorate.

A statement issued by Omran said, ‘The company is looking to partner with the private sector for managing and developing Harat al Bilad.’

One of the oldest archaeological cities in Oman, dating back to the 11th century, it includes 376 houses and nearly 250 wells.

Omran stated that interested companies must submit a plan for the development and operation of Harat al Bilad and promotion of its traditional neighbourhood. The deadline for submitting proposals is April 18.
