Oman mourns death of Dr Abdulaziz al Farsi

Muscat – Dr Abdulaziz al Farsi, senior consultant and head of adult oncology at the Royal Hospital passed away after a long battle with illness. He was also a well-known novelist and a storyteller.

The Ministry of Health issued a statement on Monday, saying, ‘The Minister of Health and all health workers in the sultanate extend their sincere condolences to the family of Dr Abdulaziz al Farsi after his death on Sunday.’

Fans of Dr Farsi posted heartfelt messages on social media condoling his death. They prayed to God to show His mercy and benevolence on Dr Farsi’s soul and to give solace to his family.

On Twitter, Aziza al Taie, said, “Oman lost a great doctor and writer today. I loved the pen of Dr Abdulaziz al Farsi: A storyteller and a novelist before I met and got to know him as a doctor. He was a humble well-educated person.”

Adel al Mujaini, tweeted, “I did not know Dr Abdulaziz al Farsi before but I did not open a single social networking site without finding praise and high morals for Dr Farsi. May the God have mercy on him and place him into His havens.”

Hashar al Mandhari, said, “With hearts that believe in the cause of God, I mourn the friend, the writer, the doctor and the human being Dr Abdulaziz al Farsi. I can’t find the right words because Farsi was a beautiful soul. He encouraged me when I grabbed the pen and supported me when my daughter was ill. Many people love him and are saddened by his absence. God have mercy on Dr Farsi.”

“Our deep Condolences to the bereaved family. Thoughts and prayers on the passing of Oman’s novelist, storyteller and physician Dr Abdulaziz al Farsi due to a long battle with illness. May his soul rest in peace,” tweeted Laith al Ghafri.
