Muscat – As many as 6,202 prohibited goods were seized in North Batinah governorate, according to the Consumer Protection Authority (CPA).
CPA has carried out several inspection visits to shops and commercial centres in various governorates in its efforts to monitor markets before Ramadan.
A statement issued by CPA, said, ‘The Directorate of Consumer Protection in North Batinah governorate seized 6,202 prohibited goods, recorded 616 violations, and dealt with 214 reports during the first quarter of 2022 as a result of the intensive monitoring efforts on the governorate’s markets.’
According to a CPA official, the authority’s departments in the wilayats of Oman have conducted an intensive campaign in commercial centres and issued notices against violators of the Consumer Protection Law.
