Muscat – The Ministry of Labour (MoL) on Sunday launched an initiative called ‘Sahim’ which aims to provide over 2,000 job opportunities on temporary contract basis in the public sector.

A statement issued by MoL said, ‘The ministry has launched Sahem initiative to provide 2,216 job opportunities under the temporary contract work system in government agencies in various governorates.’

By rolling out the initiative, the ministry seeks to enhance the decentralisation process and enable national jobseekers to contribute to the development process in the governorates.

The job opportunities cover various disciplines from general education diploma (GED) to bachelor’s degree. A total of 2,130 vacancies will be announced for holders of bachelor’s degrees and post GED qualifications and 86 jobs for those with GED qualification and less.

MoL stated that this announcement is the first-of-its-kind for the year 2022 and the third in the series of job advertisements for the public sector issued by the ministry according to a well-studied plan and according to the actual needs of government units.
