8 Mar 2022 By MOHAMMED TAHA

Muscat – A family home in the wilayat of Al Qabil, North Sharqiyah, has been converted into a museum by a nine-year old to display artefacts and pottery dating back more than 90 years.

Arwa Mohammed al Maliki showcases more than a hundred artefacts reflecting the wilayat of Al Qabil and Oman’s rich traditions in her family home museum.

Bait Muzna Museum, named after the mother of the Late Sultan Qaboos, has become a tourist and cultural destination in Al Qabil, she informed.

Among the exhibits are books, coins, kitchen utensils, handicrafts, manuscripts, silverware, bracelets, pottery and mandoos boxes. “I have always been passionate about preserving the heritage of the country,” she said.

Her efforts have been hailed by many, including the Palestinian ambassador in Oman. She was also allocated space by Children First Association in its store in the just concluded Muscat International Book Fair to display some of the museum’s pieces.
