Muscat – Royal Oman Police (ROP) arrested a person in Batinah on charges on theft and robbery of money from a fuel station using knives and damaging an ATM machine of a bank. Legal measures have been taken against him.
In another case, three foreigners were arrested on charges of vandalism and theft in Muscat governorate. ‘After search, investigations and follow-up, Muscat Governorate Police Command arrested three foreigners of Asian nationality on charges of theft during the night time and vandalising 18 shops during which they stole money and mobile phones,’ ROP stated.
ROP also arrested seven people for attempting to smuggle a large quantity of khat into Oman.
ROP said ‘The Coast Guard Police in the Governorate of Dhofar arrested seven infiltrators of Arab nationality on board two smuggling boats in two different sites in the Arabian Sea and seized a large quantity of khat in their possession.’
