Muscat– The printing of COVID-19 negative PCR results travel forms, which had been mandatory till recently, has now been discontinued, according to the Ministry of Health (MoH).
An MoH statement said, “The COVID-19 PCR negative test result forms have been stopped from being printed for travellers and the stamping fee of RO5 has also been cancelled. PCR test results with QR code will be enough.”
All PCR results should, however, be recorded in the Tarassud app, it added.
Till recently, travellers who sought negative PCR reports to facilitate international travel by air or road had to pay the PCR test fees – which ranged from RO8 to RO 15 at different hospitals and clinics in Oman – plus an additional RO5 to obtain attestation by the Ministry of Health. With this decision, the cost burden for doing a PCR tests has now reduced, much to the relief of travellers.
