Muscat – Officials from Food Safety and Quality Center (FSQC) destroyed 270kg of food found to be inedible on Wednesday.
Statement issued by FSQC, said, ‘Specialists at FSQC destroyed 270kg of foodstuff such as children’s sweets in Salalah port for violating the standard specifications of the label and for not having the expiry dates on it.’
Meanwhile, a statement issued by Dakhiliyah Municipality said, “A joint inspection programme is being implemented between Dakhiliyah Municipality and municipality departments in the governorate for restaurants and food establishments in the wilayat of Samail, which resulted in the issuance of four violation notices, three warnings, and the destruction of 53kg of unfit food.”
‘Legal measures have been taken against violators,’ it stated.
