Muscat – As part of its efforts to empower and train job seekers, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT) will launch a new programme from February 13.
An official at the ministry said, “The programme aims to train and empower job seekers in the field of engineering design and 3D printing. The five-day programme will be held from February 13 to 17, from 9am to 1pm at the Knowledge Oasis Muscat.”
Meanwhile, the sultanate has witnessed a phenomenal jump in annual employment of citizens. Over 35,000 Omanis were employed in 2021.
From creating 5,000-6,000 jobs annually earlier, the Ministry of Labour (MoL) was successful in creating 35,344 positions in public and private sectors till September 2021.
In the recent past, the MoL negotiated with several establishments to prevent layoffs. As a result, around 45,000 Omani workers employed in different establishments were able to keep their jobs.
