Muscat – The Ministry of Health (MoH) on Sunday reported 967 new cases of COVID-19 and one death registered in the last three days.
On Thursday, there were 343 cases, 251 on Friday and 373 on Saturday. ’The total number of cases registered in the sultanate has now reached 307,722, including 4,118 deaths,’ an MoH statement said.
The total number of recoveries is 300,964 while the recovery rate is 97.8 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 11 patients were admitted to hospitals across the country, and the total number of inpatients is 40, including seven in intensive care units (ICU).
Recently, H E Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed al Sa’eedi, Minister of Health, said the Supreme Committee is continuous following up on the latest developments arising from COVID-19.
“Cases are slowly rising in ICUs. This rise is not due to Omicron but failure to follow safety measures. We call on citizens and residents to adhere to the precautionary measures and get vaccinated.”
H E Dr Sa’eedi informed that the third dose of vaccine will give more protection from the virus.
