2 Jan 2022 By OUR CORRESPONDENT

Muscat – The Imam Jabir Bin Zaid Waqf Foundation (JBZF) launched an Omani endowment partnership portal named ‘Waqf’ on Sunday. It aims to enhance the concept of community-based endowment service and offer digitalised solutions to streamline humanitarian donations.

The portal was unveiled during the first endowment forum organised by JBZF in cooperation with the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs. The event was held under the auspices of Sheikh Al Fadhl Mohammed al Harthi, Secretary General of the Council of Ministers.

Waqf will serve as a platform for endowment establishments in the sultanate. The portal will streamline donations made through Omani endowment organisations.

Commenting on the launch of the portal, His Eminence Sheikh Ahmed Hamad al Khalili, Grand Mufti of the sultanate and founder of JBZF, said, “While Infaq – spiritual spending for the sake of the Almighty Allah – is deemed one of the tasks that brings one closer to Allah, the best Infaq is the type of endowment that lasts even after one passes away.”
