Muscat – The government of the Sultanate of Oman, under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, exerted efforts to provide employment for jobseekers in the public and private sectors.
Employment was provided for as many as 40,594 jobseekers until mid-December 2021. Among these, employment procedures for 5,910 are underway.

The government also exerted efforts to ensure more than 45,708 private sector workers were not laid off, or exposed to mass termination of services or reduction of salaries. The efforts included negotiation with employers, who were urged to keep the services of the employees or transfer them to other sections to benefit from their services there.
