MoCIIP kicks off video, logo contest

18 Dec 2021 MoCIIP kicks off video, logo contest By MOHAMMED TAHA

Muscat – As part of its efforts to support Omani products, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MoCIIP) has announced a new competition, which aims to support the ‘Made in Oman’ campaign.

“The competition consists of two parts: Production of a promotional video for Omani products and designing a logo for the ‘Made in Oman’ national campaign,” a ministry official said.

Elaborating on the competition rules, he said the video should promote Omani products in an innovative way, and its duration should not exceed 90 seconds. The logo of the ‘Made in Oman’ campaign should not be similar to any logo or borrowed from any party or persons. Contestants must create a logo based on their own ideas.

“The last date for submitting entries is December 25, 2021

via [email protected],” the official said.

MoCIIP confirmed that the ‘Made in Oman’ campaign continues in stores, supermarkets and malls across the sultanate.

The campaign is organised by MoCIIP in partnership with the Authority of Small & Medium Enterprises Development, Consumer Protection Authority, Madayn and Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as representatives from the business community. It is designed to support local producers and manufacturers to encourage consumers across the sultanate to buy locally produced goods.

The ministry explained that one of the key goals of the campaign is to get consumers to see Omani products, produce and services in a new light, and do more than just talk about the GDP and how rials spent on local products help long-term growth.

Last week, MoCIIP launched an online investment licensing service via the ‘Invest Easy’ portal allowing all firms subject to the Foreign Capital Investment Law to obtain licences for their projects through self-service or service centres.
