Third dose for 18 years and older to start soon: SC

12 Dec 2021 Oman records 15 new Omicron cases

Muscat – The Supreme Committee (SC) in charge of dealing with COVID-19 announced that the third dose of vaccine against COVID-19 will be given to those 18 years and older.

The Ministry of Health will announce the target groups and the approved plan for an immunisation drive.

In light of SC’s earlier announcement regarding vaccination as a condition to allow entry to all government units and private sector facilities, it said it has adopted a unified mechanism for dealing with unvaccinated people. ‘The competent authorities will inform of the guidelines to all.’

The committee emphasised the continuation of adoption of precautionary measures as well as utilising only 50 per cent of the capacity in wedding and event halls, activities of mass nature, including sports activities and exhibitions of all kinds.
